1. Who We Are
My Guitar Academy ("we", "us", "our") operates guitar tuition services in two locations: our registered office at K-145, Krishna Park Extension, Outer Ring Road, New Delhi 110018, India, and our Auckland branch at Kete Aronui, 80 Onehunga Hall, Onehunga, Auckland, New Zealand. These Terms & Conditions apply to all students enrolling through myguitaracademy.com, whether in our online course or our Auckland in-person classes.
2. Our Services
We provide two categories of service:
- Online Course: A 12-week beginner guitar course, focused on Bollywood songs, delivered digitally via audio lessons, video lessons, and downloadable lesson sheets.
- In-Person Group Classes (Auckland only): Weekly 1-hour group classes held at our Onehunga, Auckland location, offered in 12-class (3-month) and 24-class (6-month) packages, with a guitar provided free of charge for the duration of enrolment.
3. Enrolment & Payment
Enrolment is completed by submitting the relevant registration form and making payment through our website's secure checkout. Fees are payable in full at the time of enrolment unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept payment via the online payment gateway, and, for in-person students, cash or bank transfer by prior arrangement.
We have a team of qualified teachers across different levels. Teachers may change according to course requirements, lesson content, or availability.
4. Student Conduct
During class, students are expected to display respect, basic etiquette, and an open learning attitude toward instructors and fellow students. My Guitar Academy reserves the right to terminate a student's enrolment with immediate effect if we are not satisfied with a student's conduct in terms of discipline, behaviour, or for instigating other students against academy systems and values. No refund will be issued in such circumstances.
5. Attendance & Completion
- It is the responsibility of every student to maintain attendance for their scheduled classes. Classes missed by the student will not be compensated or rescheduled.
- Courses must be completed within the stated time period (3 months for the 12-class package, 6 months for the 24-class package). Any remaining or missed classes are not valid beyond this period.
- Students wishing to repeat or rejoin a course after this period must pay the full fee again, regardless of level.
- No free practice sessions or extra classes are provided. Additional one-to-one sessions or practice classes may be purchased separately.
6. Refunds
Our refund terms are set out in full in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms & Conditions. In summary: course and class fees are non-refundable once digital course materials have been accessed or an in-person batch has commenced, except where required under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
7. Intellectual Property
All course content | including video lessons, audio recordings, lesson sheets, and curriculum materials | remains the intellectual property of My Guitar Academy. Enrolment grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to access this content for your own learning. You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, or publicly share course materials without our prior written consent.
8. Limitation of Liability
While we take reasonable care in delivering our services, My Guitar Academy is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of our courses or attendance at our classes, except where such liability cannot be excluded under New Zealand law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986.
In the event of a pandemic or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, in-person classes may be moved online to continue delivery. No refund will be issued solely on this basis, provided that an equivalent level of instruction continues to be delivered.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in our services or legal requirements. The current version will always be available on this page, with the "last updated" date shown above. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes arising from our services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
